This will be our third fall road trip since we have retired. I have been to New England twice but always in the summer. We are excited about seeing it in the fall. We will travel a little later leaving in mid September and hoping to hit the fall foliage just right. We will try to make it back here in late October for fall in the Smokys.
As with my other trip websites I will put links to my resources and itinerary as I plan the trip and then create a blog for daily posts during the trip. Just a note as I am planning - this has been the hardest of the three road trips I have planned - there are just so many choices it has been overwhelming at times. I am pretty sure that I have more than we can do in some places and we will have to pick and choose which things to leave out mostly based on weather.
I also had to make a last minute change. Originally we were going to stay 3 days with the Lloyds in Lake Charles, New York but to illness those plans had to be changed. We decided to travel on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah National Park, the Poconos, and then onto Vermont and back to our original plan.
